I wish the backpack could hold a rigid shape like in the picture; however, the product is still great. Cons: no cellphone holder, or headphone opening. Everything else is convenient. I have a 14.1" laptop with a huge battery, so this backpack is good. Plenty of space for books. I'm in college with 2-3 classes a day, most of my classes have 1000+ page books, so the space is great. I enjoy the product and was surprised that shipping was quick.

  • Great backpack, great value

I bought this backpack one year ago and wanted to use it well first before writing a review. After 12 months, here it comes: I absolutely love it. I take it to school everyday and on trips as my carry-on luggage. It is perfect for me. My laptop fits in nicely even when already packed in an extra cover. The bag has so much room in it and it is so sturdy. I got a green one (olive green) and it looks really nice. The straps are well cushioned and very comfortable, too. I have already carried tones of books in it but my shoulders never hurt. It has two pockets in the front with zippers which I use for pens, my wallet, etc. The only feature I miss in this backpack is an external bottle holder... it is a great buy.

  • Much larger than advertised

I ordered this backpack because I wanted a stylish alternative to the typical boring-looking backpack. It is certainly as stylish in person as in the picture, although much larger than I has envisioned. The design is unique, and the backpack is made of durable canvas. The shoulder straps are padded and comfortable.

The other reviewers are correct that there are no divided organizer-type pockets. These are the backpack's storage areas:
    * Backside pocket under shoulder straps, 11" wide x 7" tall.
    * Front outside pocket on outside flap, 10" wide x 6" tall. This pocket has a vertical zipper and can be accessed while the backpack is closed.
    * Front outside pocket under outside flap, 12" wide x 6" tall.
    * Front outside pocket under outside flap, 11" wide x 9" tall.
    * Laptop storage pocket, 13" wide x 15" tall.
    * Driver license/credit card/business card pocket inside backpack.
    * Roomy open inside of backpack. This measures about 12" wide x 14" tall x 6" deep when there's no laptop. This area is really big!

I don't use this backpack for my 15.4" laptop because the bag is just to big-- bigger than most regular backpacks, even. My laptop swims in the laptop compartment, which has somewhat mediocre padding. The backpack is too big to haul to work every day, but may be perfect for a student who must haul gigantic books around, or for taking on outings or to the gym. I don't miss the organizational pockets, but a pack this big could really use at least a place to hang keys, which easily get lost in all the space. I would encourage a potential buyer to consider the dimensions of the pack before committing to buy.

I use this pack for my origami supplies, including my large paper-cutter, books and paper, and it works great for me. Overall, the backpack is large, durable and comfortable, and can be put to variety of uses.

  • Simple and Innocuous

I was looking for something to carry my 15.4" Hp that didn't look like a laptop bag. This works great, especially for the $35 that I paid for it. Yes, it is missing water bottle holders and organizational pockets. I will live. I can organize myself into 5 pockets and manage to carry my water in a sealed bottle.

  • very good laptop backpack

this backpack is very convenient to use, has its own space for your laptop. and multiple pockets outside of the bag. the only thing I deducted a star for is that there isn't a area to put my charger separate without causing a mess

  • A good non-computer looking computer bag

I really like this bag. I agree with Anne Milligan's review that there are not a lot of pockets. However, I like that. With my old one, the extra little organizing pockets were always wasted space since I just threw stuff in anyway. There are 4 zippered pockets, but they wouldn't hold anything too bulky well, maybe business cards, ID, phone, etc. It is quite roomy. My 15.4 laptop (inspiron 1300) is a little loose in the protected area, but not as bad as Anne's must have been. I sometimes need to take a 17" computer (which fits barely) for work so it actually works great for me. It is a bit more casual than my old nylon/polyester bag, but it has a lot more character.

  • It's not only wide but extremely long

I am having shoulder pains from carrying my bags only on one side of my shoulders. I am looking for a backpack that doesn't look like an elementary school children's backpack. I am looking for something that looks more like a purse. I thought that this backpack was exactly what i needed but it is too LONG!!! It's constantly bouncing off my rear regardless of how much I shorten the shoulder straps and therefore I get back pains. I think I am returning it.

  • Attractive bag disappoints when it comes to laptop protection

Posted by: Rolf Bossard September 19,2010

In a sea of boring, corporate-America laptop bags, this attractive, simple-cut backpack spicily proclaims, "I am the new, young, hip generation of laptop carriers".

UNFORTUNATELY, attractive is not enough. Despite what the product description says, my 15.4" laptop (which is the exact dimensions specified above) literally SWIMS in the huge, gaping laptop sleeve in this backpack. While that's a plus for those who have larger notebooks, it simply wasn't what I was looking for. I will now have to purchase an additional neoprene laptop sleeve in order to cushion my 'book and keep it from sloshing about within the backpack's laptop section.

ALSO, there are unfortunately no slots in the bag for pens, pencils, cell phones, MP3 players, etc. There's one flat pocket up front (on the flap) with a vertical zipper, and a few larger, flat pockets behind the flap. That's it! I personally like organizing, and want to keep my pens tidily separate from receipts or pamphlets or whatever else.

All in all, the laptop backpack market is severely limited for those seeking an attractive, simple, and modern-but-not-corporate-work-horse looking bag. I would buy this product again, but only because the market is so limited.

    IN CONCLUSION:
Pros: attractive backpack with a simple, subtle cut; comfortable shoulder straps

Cons: no pockets for smaller items (pens, phones, etc), lining feels cheap and thin, laptop sleeve doesn't appear to offer real protection for smaller laptops (15.4" and smaller).

  • Too big

This backpack is too big considering I'm not very tall (I'm 5' and the backpack width is longer than my shoulder) , but it can fit my 15" laptop easily. I didn't want to carry this backpack to school because it will look hilarious on me. I still keep it in my room, and found the use of this bag when I went to a camping trip. It can fill as many items as you want for a 2,3 days trip, so at least it's not wasted after all.

  • seriously big

if you're ok looking like you're going on a hike in the woods, then this is really a good backpack. it has room for pretty much everything you can think of, it's well-made, easy to get to things, and comfortable to wear. it's just kind of embarassingly large.

Just received it in the mail today. I'm going to use it as a secondary diaper bag. It has plenty of room and will be great. I will use the little carrier bag for wet clothes.
