Roomy and stylish

I have this bag in the Paprika color, a dark, earthy orange-red (more red than orange) and it is a true Ellington bag in quality and style. I am a big fan of their handbags because they make functional bags which usually sport a little something extra - be it color or accents. The Bella hobo is no exception.
The leather is glossy and has a lot of depth to it - it does not look cheap yet is reasonably light-weight. The handles are made of substantial leather. I especially like the wrapped leather accents on them. The same goes for the rivet accents on the exterior pockets and where the handles/straps are attached. In my opinion, the Bella hobo strikes a good balance between cool, casual, and classy-fashionable.
Inside, the bag is roomy and has several open slip pockets (two smaller ones for cell phones, etc.), and one larger one. It also has a leather-framed zippered pocket and a key chain (albeit a short one which is only suited to attach keys, but you cannot leave them attached and unlock your door - it is too short for that). I like the new Ellington logo lining that they recently introduced - I have a thing for classy linings and am always disappointed to find a pretty bag just to discover that inside it has some kind of blah twill... Ellington delivers with their lining.
I can stuff all my things in this bag and still have a bit of room left - and I carry a ton: large wallet, zippered cosmetics pouch, mini-folder for note-taking, pen, sunglasses, readers, a water spray for the face, another boxy zippered pouch with essentials, and several smaller items such as pocket tape measure, Kleenex, etc.
The few things I am not so fond of are purely from a practical point of view: Due to the thick leather, the handles are a bit heavy and stiff. The same goes for the detachable shoulder strap. When carrying the Bella as a shoulder bag, the strap tends to fall off the shoulder easily. But it can be worn as a cross-body and that eliminates the slipping. And who knows? Maybe over time the strap will soften and on the up-side, the strap does not feel as if it couldn't hold the weight of the bag.
All in all a cute bag which even got my husband's approval :-)
